After spending a while trying to find out where this ringing sound was coming from I discovered it was coming from the baffle in my almost new Jarding muffler. If I take a screwdriver and touch it to the disk that separates the two chambers of the muffler the sound goes away. Since I have had the muffler for more than 30 days, I can not send it back.
Has anyone else had this problem, or did I just get a defective muffler? I was thiking of removing the baffle and welding the piece that is vibrating to the rest of the baffle. Should I go about doing this by drilling out the two rivets closest to the outlet? Is there anything else holding the baffle in?
